Method v0.1 · working protocol

The method is public before the measurements are.

This is RigProof’s initial portable-power protocol. It will be revised as testing begins, instruments are validated in use, and useful limitations become clear. The change history will stay attached to the work.

01 / Scope

The initial protocol covers portable power stations and their stated operating modes. It is not a certification program, a laboratory accreditation claim, or a safety approval. The goal is a documented, repeatable field-relevant comparison.

02 / Setup

Before a run, RigProof will record product configuration, firmware or operating mode where visible, starting state of charge, cable and charger used, connected load, instrument model, test location, and the date/time. Any deviation from the standard setup will be called out.

03 / Conditions

Ambient temperature, enclosure or vehicle context when relevant, airflow, temperature at the unit where measured, and test duration will be logged. A parked-rig heat test is not interchangeable with a climate-controlled bench run; the note will say which happened.

04 / Measurements

The working protocol is intended to capture input and output energy, voltage/current where instrumented, elapsed runtime, shutdown behavior, inverter response to stated loads, temperature observations, and anomalies. A future note will distinguish direct readings from calculated values.

05 / Publication

Every result note will publish the method version, setup, conditions, load profile, source files or tables where practical, and the observations that support its conclusion. Failed, incomplete, or unusual runs belong in the record when they affect interpretation.

06 / Claims

A manufacturer claim is reported as the claim, with its stated context if available. A RigProof result is an observed outcome from a named method version and set of conditions. It does not prove every unit will perform the same way in every climate, vehicle, or use case.

07 / Versioning

This is Method v0.1, a working protocol before testing begins. Revisions will receive a new version and a dated change note. Earlier lab notes will retain the method version used at the time instead of being retroactively rewritten.

What gets published first?

The pending Lab Notes template shows the specific fields RigProof intends to publish with the first real test. It is a preparation document, not a result.
